MAIN FABRICS
NYLPECHE FABRIC (exclusive quality)
Perfected for the commercial fishing industry, Nylpeche has been adopted by a large majority of fishermen worldwide. The attention given to the coating, which contains only pure ingredients, accounts for the fabric ability to cope with extreme temperature.
The sophistication of Nylpeche provides a 100 % waterproof garment of unequalled strength, at the same time retaining excellent suppleness. Composition: highly resistant polyester (150 g/m2). Double-sided pure PVC coating (335 g/m2). Total weight: 485 g/m2.
Products made of Nylpeche are all situated in the HEAVY DUTY range (X-Trapper Bib and Jacket, Lobster Bib, North Sea Bib, Isopro Jacket, Pacific, Tasman & Market Aprons).

Total Weight: 480 g/m2.
Products made of Cap-Coz are all situated in the HEAVY DUTY range (X-Trapper Bib and Jacket, Isopro Jacket, Isoprim Jacket).

allows for pleasant wearability.

INNOVATIONS
ISOLATECH (Patended system) Insulation technique
Condensation is a natural phenomenom that occurs inside traditional waterproofs as soon as there is a difference in temperature between the outside and the inside of the garment.
Our ISOLATECH SYSTEM is using the double glazing principle. An insulating membrane covers all the body parts in contact with the garment: shoulders, chest, top of the back, belly part for the aprons.
The Condensation is greatly reduced!
A number of products of the Guy Cotten range is benefiting from the ISOLATECH INNOVATION.
"MAGIC" Hood (Patented design)
Wide angle vision at all times for improved safety. The MAGIC HOOD still protects you as much, if not more than before, but it does not obstruct your vision. Thanks to its adjustable sides, the MAGIC HOOD fits the face exactly:
- No water ingress on sides.
- The hood is always well adjusted without being too tight.
- The hood can not be blown back with a sudden gust of wind.
- It is possible to wear a helmet under the "Magic" Hood.
One, two, three, it's done!
1/ Close and adjust your garment.
2/ Tighten both sides of the hood.
3/ Adjust the back tie and conceal it inside its housing.
The MAGIC HOOD does not only fit your head perfectly and comfortably, it also provides an unequalled ease of movement.
The MAGIC HOOD offers more efficiency, more safety and more comfort!
CARE OF YOUR CLOTHING
Guy Cotten chooses the most suitable materials and fabrics for the best performance in each sailing activity. To maintain the quality of these fabrics, it is essential to follow the recommendations on how to look after each item of clothing.
• We advise you to rinse your clothing in fresh water as soon as you get back from the sea. This precaution will prevent the slider of your zip from sticking due to salt. It will also reduce the feeling of weight and humidity when next used.
• PVC, breathable and Power Stretch textiles can be machine-washed at a maximum of 30°, on a wool cycle, with no fabric conditioner and no spin, and should be left to drip dry on your washing line.
PVC fabrics can also be washed by hand in warm water using soap and rubbing lightly.
• Although it is possible to use the tumble-drier for breathable fabrics, we do not recommend it. It should definitely not be used for any of our other fabrics.
• Solvents, fabric conditioners, bleach (even diluted!) and similar products damage the coating or impregnation and may have irremediable consequences on the fabric’s effectiveness.
• A quick trick for freeing a slider jammed with salt: soak it in warm water (which dissolves the amalgams) then gently slide the slider the full length of the zip to remove it and replace it. This will prevent the zip’s teeth from breaking.
Careful of stains!
The following substances are virtually indelible, particularly on fabrics coated with PVC:
- Tar.
- Some forms of grease.
- Various inks.
- Unfixed colours (in certain conditions – heat, humidity – colours from other clothing or accessories can “migrate” onto your Cotten wear).
In such cases, these articles or faulty colours are the responsibility of the manufacturer! Only immediate action can remove or tone done the stains: using a greasy substance (oil, fat) lightly applied with a sponge or a cloth. |
